Holy Fukushima – Radiation From Japan Is Already Killing North Americans

fukushima_radiation_map-650x4301

You’re going to want to use every share button at the bottom of this article once you’re done reading, so get ready, it’s time to freak out:  Maybe.

If you live on the west coast of Canada or the United States, you’re pretty much already screwed at this point thanks to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami of 2011.  Radiation levels are already increasing in the food and water, babies born with thyroid issues linked to radiation are rising quickly and governments in Canada and the United States are raising the “acceptable levels” of certain toxic substances in the food being shipped in from Japan.

This isn’t a conspiracy theory, this is happening and it’s happening right now.  However, it’s your choice to either heed or dismiss the information being supplied here, which is for editorial purposes only.

The fancy little picture at the top of the article isn’t showing you the flow of happy fun time thoughts from Japan back in March of 2012, it’s showing you the flow of radiation from the Fukushima nuclear plant after the devastating earthquake and tsunami of 2011.  Yes, that sharp pain you just felt in your chest is the sudden realization that the image shows the radiation reaching almost past Hawaii more than a year ago.

Related:  Holy Fukushima – Is Your Drinking Water Safe From Japanese Radiation?  What You Don’t Know, Might Be Killing You.

Do the math – If that radiation screamed across the Pacific Ocean that far in one year, just how far do you think it has gotten since then?  Look at what World Truth TV is saying and then you decide.

Samples of milk taken across the United States have shown radiation at levels 2000 percent higher than EPA maximums.  The reason that milk is so significant is that it is representative of the entire food supply.  According to an article published on Natural News, “Cows consume grass and are exposed to the same elements as food crops and water supplies. In other words, when cows’ milk starts testing positive for high levels of radioactive elements, this is indicative of radioactive contamination of the entire food supply.”

The  Food and Drug  Administration and the Environmental Deception Protection Agency, instead of refusing to prohibit the sale of tainted foods and mandatory testing of foods produced and harvested from the Pacific Coast, have simply raised the “acceptable levels”  of radioactive material in foods.

If that doesn’t scare the ever-living crap out of you, then take a look at the list of foods you are now supposed to be wary of, you know, for only the next 30,000 years.

How can we protect ourselves? First, be aware of what items are likely to be highly tainted.

1.)  SEAFOOD:  Question the origin of ALL seafood.  Fish and crustaceans from the Pacific Ocean should all be considered to be poisoned with radiation.

2.)  WATER:  The rainfall and snowfall are all radiated.  Do not drink any water that has not been filtered.   The tap water that flows from your faucet has NOT been treated to rid it of radioactive particles. A recent report from the NY Times stated, “A rooftop water monitoring program managed by UC Berkeley’s Department of Nuclear Engineering detected substantial spikes in rain-borne iodine-131 during torrential downpours …

3.) DAIRY PRODUCTS:  Milk and milk products from the West Coast states currently have the highest levels of radiation in North America.

4.)  PRODUCE:  Leafy Vegetables, Wines, Tomatoes, Strawberries….all produce from California or any other West Coast State are also likely to be tainted.

5.)  MEAT:  If an animal eats any leafy vegetable all along the West Coast, that animal has consumed radiation, and is poisoned.  This is any animal from cows, pigs, goats, sheep to wild deer and other game.

If you eat the above foods from areas with high radiation levels, you are eating radiation and feeding it to your children. Slowly the radiation levels within your body will build up.  This is PERMANENT.

Infant mortality rates across the United States have increased by more than 35% since the nuclear disaster, according to a court statement by Dr. Sherman with independent scientist Leuren Moret, MA, PhD.  A study published in The International Journal of Medicine indicates that more than 20,000 deaths right here in North America can be directly attributed to the release of radioactive material from Fukushima.

Radioactive isotopes of the type released from Fukushima have a half-life of 30,000 years.  This means that we must permanently change the way we prepare our food.

  • Wash your food with soap and rinse it in filtered water.
  • Be aware of the origins of your vegetables, fish, game and seafood.
  • Keep abreast of radiation levels to help monitor where your food is acquired.
  • Use only filtered water for drinking, cooking and ice.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but that one way trip to colonize Mars is looking pretty damn attractive right now, especially after watching this video that was compiled by German scientists displaying the likely dispersion of Cs-137 in the pacific ocean.

  1. I think that people that don’t have anything constructive to say should not say anything at all; as well as the uneducated ones. Firstly, the internet ,youtube and hundreds of people support this article many experts on youtube and the internet support this article and shed light on it. It is a fact there is a government cover up in regards to the sailors exposed to Fukoshima and in regards to our mainland United States in that it is not acknowledged nor addressed .How can you ignore Californians flat out stating that millions of marine life are dying. The goverment is afraid of mass panic. Like all things that are beyond there control or ability to solutionize or solve America lies or pretends it is not happening. To this author I commend you and apoligize for the negative comments I have to admit some were funny to read ;at any rate this is a serious issue that needs to be addressed and it is unacceptable ,that our government, however encredible the situation ,or hopeless as it may seem; has a tremendous responsibility if not obligation to its tax paying citezins who pay them to do there jobs in a highly noble, professional, and protecting manner. Make no mistake this is wrong that our government chooses to not only stand idle but discredit the truth. Of no doubt radiation exposure is not only real it is happening, the amount of funding it takes to solve our problem with Fukoshima and other areas in the United States and the World is too great for the World as a whole to fix, however that does not mean we should not know about it. We should take this time and oppertunity to focus on our relgious beliefs. At present there are no discussions on a global scale to fix this problem and others. There are no meetings because of our coruption and ignorance. My heart goes out to those people on the west coast affected by this. Eventually the truth will surface even if its too late but the few of us that know these things are happening are aware of them and we can make small steps to avoid unesessary radiation exposure in the years to come. As the things progress and the truth surfaces we can be content and tell others we knew about this we tried to tell you.

  10. Which source indicates that avoiding certain milk, meat, greens, etc will actually help? Will filtering water actually help or is that a guess?

  11. wow….is all I can say..I worked at a nuclear power plant as well…and my job title was RADIATION PROTECTION SPECIALIST….it is true we get most radiation through x-rays at the doctor…it is also true that the more radiation travels the less harmful it becomes. I guess the problem would be the food source…we always had to take samples from the water the air and animal waste because that is important. If the cow is drinking radiated water and we eat the cow we definitely are going to get what the cow has. Now thats something I learned in training or else why would they have me testing the animals. Im really not sure if this is true or not. its always something.

    • For electromagnetic and particle radiation (alpha and beta particles) it’s very true that the risk decreases sharply with distance but the concern here is over radioactive isotopes. Not just electromagnetic and particular radiation are spilling but actual atoms (of Cesium-127 as depicted in video) are spreading essentially worldwide over the course of the next few years and they will release ionizing radiation for hundreds of years.

Other isotopes spilling from Fukushima have half-lives of 10s of thousands of years. Distance is the enemy when the radiation is coming from elements in your lungs, food and water.

Been a while since college physics so feel free to correct me if I’m wrong about that.

    • is there absolutely no way to remove the radiation from the water in the ocean? Couldn’t scientists invent some sort of a radiation magnet that pulls it from the water? This might sound ridiculous but I’d rather work on inventing something to help combat the problem than just wait and see.

This problem is huge and is but one of the many other huge problems we face. Gridlock over what problems exist and what our priorities should be prevent real progress from ever happening. We’re fucked and simply ushering each other to extinction.

9/03Radioisotopes That May Impact Food Resources
This table describes the radioisotopes (radioactive elements) that may be released in an accident at a nuclear power plant that are most likely to affect food resources. The potential human health risk posed by each of these radioisotopes depends on several factors:
 The form (e.g., a gas, a solid particle, or an element dissolved in water) of the radioisotope when it is released to the environment. This affects where it might be found in the environment and how far it might travel.
 The radiological half-life of the radioisotope. With each half-life that passes, one half of the radioactivity will be gone.
 The biological half-life of the radioisotope. With each half-life that passes, one half of the radioactivity will be removed from the living animal’s body.
 The dose (amount) of radiation a person receives, and whether the dose is external (to the outside skin) or internal (inside the body after inhalation or ingestion).
 The target organ where the radioisotope may accumulate if it enters the body.
      Radioisotope
      Radiological half-life1
      Biological half-life in mallard duck2
      Exposure type4
      Target area in body5
      Food consumption issues
      Iodine-131
      8 days
      10 days
      Internal
      Thyroid
Radiological half-life is short, and thyroid not commonly consumed.
      Cesium-137
      30 years
      11 days
      External, Internal
      Whole Body
Can accumulate in the food web and in animal muscle tissue.
      Cesium-134
      2 years
      10 days
      External, Internal
      Whole Body
Can accumulate in the food web and in animal muscle tissue. It is usually a smaller component of accident fallout6 than Cesium-137.
      Strontium-90
      28 years
      18 years in humans3
      Internal
      Bone
      Bone not commonly consumed.
      1) Radiological half-life is the time it takes for the radioisotope to lose half its prior radioactivity.
      2) Biological half-life indicates how long it takes a living animal to eliminate a radioisotope from its body after it has been internally exposed. With each biological half-life, half of the prior radioactivity will have been eliminated from the body through metabolism and excretion. This value varies by animal species, and is different for each radioisotope. The biological half-life for many radioisotopes is much shorter than the radiological half-life. Duck data are from Halford DE, Markham OD. 1983. Biological elimination rates of radioisotopes by mallards contaminated at a liquid radioactive waste disposal area. Health Physics 45:745-756.
      3) Defined as the “effective” half-life in Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), September 1999. Toxicological Profile for Ionizing Radiation. U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, Atlanta Georgia.
      4) Radiation exposure can be external (to the outside skin) or internal (inside the body after inhalation or ingestion), depending on the radioisotope and the exposure scenario.
      5) Location in the body where the radioisotope may accumulate. If an animal has been exposed to radiation, this affects which parts of the animal might be less safe to eat.
      6) “Fallout” means the landing of radioisotopes on the Earth after they have been released into the air following a nuclear accident or explosion

  14. iodine 131 is used in very safe medical detection of thyroid glands and your metabolism. the doctors make you drink it and it leaves traces for a few days and then it’s gone. you’re fine. the rain water is fine. it’s like taking an x-ray. taking one or so every year isn’t going to do you anymore harm then your daily normal exposure to high and short radiations, just don’t take one everyday, hence why radiation technologist is a very dangerous because they are exposed everyday.

also the radiation type is not specified, remember alpha and beta radiation can be stopped by skin, clothing and pieces of paper, you only have a major problem if you ingest it. and if ingesting things with radiation from Fukushima, I’m sure we would have heard of more alpha/beta poisoning on the news (mind you, if you do swallow, you will be dead within a month).

Why not worry about Hanford site, which is in the state of Washington, and whose 53 million gallons of high level radioactive waste are admitted by the government to be leaking into the groundwater, which has conveyed that toxic nastiness into the Columbia River, which has a drainage basis roughly the size of France, where these toxic materials have been found? And by the way, did I mention that the government has admitted to all of this.

Fukushima is a day at the waterslides compared to Hanford. Don’t believe me? Go ahead and look for yourself:

  23. I work in the nuclear power industry in Asia (specifically in the area of radiation and radiation shielding), and have an additional background in the associated physics, and I can say, scientifically, logically, there is nothing correct about this article. Radiation dissipates exponentially as it moves away from its source. There is no great wall of radiation that magically travels across the world. In fact, as somebody correctly mentioned, you get many times more radiation through your daily exposure to the sun. As proof of this, citizens have been allowed to move back into the general vicinity of Fukushima (granted not in the exact location, though they are allowed to take day trips) and have not shown any health effects.

The health effects you cited are just plain not true. Period. This isn’t a question of opinion or hypothesis. There is no what if, there is no maybe. Also, for the record, water is a barrier to radiation. So the idea that seafood from the Pacific is now tainted is laughable. Would I eat the seafood found directly outside the pipes of the plant along the coast? Maybe not, but fish from thousands of miles away? Safe. Period. And the cows? The food you cite in America as now being unsafe? Believe it or not, all living material is radioactive. YOU are radioactive. For instance, when the government tests alcohol to ensure that it isn’t made from chemicals and actual includes grain etc, they do a radioactive test to ensure it has a signature. So you bet that the grass is radioactive. But I think you would be wise to look up a chart of the radioactive signatures of various foods and activities. You’ll find that the acceptable level the government uses is about 50x lower than the level at which health effects begin to appear. In fact, there are a number of scientists that argue that keeping such a low “accepted” level is a waste of time and money.

I found this filter and bought it for my home, and it seems to be the only one to filter radiation. Seems important when we’re drinking contaminated water every day, and our bodies simply can’t process any radioactive waste, even a little bit leads to serious problems. – http://www.pureeffectfilters.com/#a_aid=Phoenix If you’re interested… and maybe try starting a home greenhouse if you can afford it..

      • So let me get this. You filter the nuclear radiation out of your water into a filter and then what happens when you use your hands to take off the filter and throw it away. That radiation ends up in landfills, animals etc contamination… Not sure that there is a real way to get rid of radiation out of your drinking water. If there was; the nuclear power plants would have been smart enough to dilute the radiation before it left the crippled building. but they didn’t because you can’t. Radiation is all around us in very tiny amounts.. The thing you only need to worry about is your DNA should you get put in a place that has high levels of radiation. Not sure how the water or air dilute radiation but I know it does some. I would be pre cautious of what you eat anyways regardless of radiation or not. Our “normal” food has fake stuff in it, preservatives etc., antibiotics (in our meat/milk), metal in our water / fluoride, etc. that will probably give us all many many health problems we already see in our society. Obesity, diabetes, cancer, infertility etc. So at this point; we are all going to die of something. Just don’t go out and buy and eat a lot a lot of fish from West regions.. simple.

Questioning claims is absolutely NOT what is wrong with the US. What is wrong is the complete opposite. People are much too willing to believe anything they read on the internet without ever questioning the source(s) of the information or the interpretation that is presented to them. I think we were right in nuking a civilization who’s government to this day, supports taking thousands of women from other countries and enslaving them to a life of forced prostitution for their soldiers pleasure. I’m sure we were right to nuke a country that would have fought to the last able bodied man if we were to invade the homeland. I’m sure we were right to fuck over a country that conducted testing on biological warfare/torture on civilian prisoners. I’m sure we were right to nuke a country who implemented some of the most disgusting and severe torture on innocent civilians. Or should we have wasted millions of American lives on scum like them? Hiroshima and Nagasaki justified because the Japanese soldiers were disgusting creatures hell bent on victimizing civilians.

  37. I know this to be true. I also know that the radiation is what caused my son’s cancer back in 2011. He was just diagnosed months after the tsunami, when things were starting to wash up on the shores of California from Japen. Shortly there after, Nevada scientists detected hit levels of radiation over California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington. I brought this up to the board of Oncologists at the hospital my son was admitted to in June 2011. They didn’t have an answer, just dumbfoubded looks on their faces. So, do I believe this article, yes.

  53. I hope all the nay sayers understand that humans never came up with an adequate way to deal with the waste produced by nuclear power. Part of why Fukushima is so bad is because it had so many spent fuel rods (which are radioactive), just kind of chillin and getting stacked up in their storage pools. This is typical of nuclear power plants. It’s estimated that most storage pools in the US will reach capacity in 2015. Some spent fuel rods can be reprocessed but there is no real system or funding in place in the US for commercial reprocessing. So, it seems most will be directed to dry cask storage. These casks will most likely be, or already are, stored near nuclear plants as there is not central storage facility (in the US) for spent fuel. Remember that many nuclear facilities are located along water. These casks are not a permanent solution as cracking from corrosion could happen within 30 years.

  61. The article on milk contamination you’re citing indirectly is identified by this dataset: https://opendata.socrata.com/w/pkfj-5jsd/y34g-bnf3?cur=w_bE5ToS3hx&from=root

Note that the date on this article is more than two years old. That’s important, because the radioactive decay of these elements is fairly rapid — 30 years for C-137, 2 years for C-134 and _8 days_ for I-131.

In other words, you’re reporting on a problem that is 1/(2^91) less of a problem then it was when it was first encountered, and you’re reporting it as news. Please don’t tell me you think that is science.

What’s more, just look at that dataset. Almost the entire sample shows no evidence of contamination, punctuated by a egregious datapoint in exactly the area you’d expect to be hardest hit (Hawaii) and a less-by-half datapoint taken the following week. This data screams “no rads” and then whispers “well okay, some rads.”

I know you’ll read articles that claim “there’s no such thing as a safe amount of radiation” but it just isn’t true. Humans are constantly irradiated by naturally occurring sources like radon and gamma rays, so if we weren’t able to heal the effects of minor radiation we wouldn’t have lasted long. This isn’t to say that radiation is a good thing, just that there’s no reason to leave the planet yet.

By the way — the lack of an atmosphere on Mars, coupled with its lack of a magnetic field, means that there’s basically no protection from cosmic rays. Even with rad shielding, you’re looking at an annual dose hundreds of times worse than your average rad dose in the US. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_threat_from_cosmic_rays#Human_health_effects)

There’s a very interesting interview with a lifelong radiation researcher Tony Brooks here: http://www.nature.com/nature/podcast/index-2012-05-10.html Listening to it doesn’t make me happier about the danger and cost of nuclear power, but it does make me feel safer living in a nuclear world.

Now never underestimate how holy holes are when it comes to getting rid of the evidence like a radioactive wasteland. Telling people the answer to the problem never worked for me to help them but why not try again. With a tunnel boring machine dig deep under ground where radiation cant penetrate and come up right under the core of the plant. Drop the reaction chamber and everything down the shaft and put it on a conveyer into a bunch of shafts. This idea of having a drop zone has been around since I first heard about Fukushima… No response

    • Living on the west coast, you already receive massive amounts of radiation poisoning — but not from Fukushima. From Hanford in Washington state. Hanford is the facility where they made plutonium for the Manhattan Project, and into the 1980s. The waste, which is very significant and concentrated (undiluted by water) is leaking from the waste storage tanks into the Columbia River — a million gallons leaked so far. The Columbia River drains into the Pacific Ocean, with a drainage basin the size of France. Guess how many people or animals ever got sick from the Hanford leaks? Guess how many people are expected to ever get sick, despite ongoing leaking? Zero and zero.

If Hanford won’t get you — a disaster which is literally a billion times worse than Fukushima — please explain how in the world it makes sense to be concerned about Fukushima’s health effects at all.
