This One Photo Might Make You Support The Cuts To Canada Post

This is the typical weekly dump of fliers that every household with a mailbox in Ottawa receives without asking for it.  Go ahead and count.  That’s 41 paper fliers that will go directly from the mailbox into the recycle box without ever being read.

So go ahead Canada Post, encourage us to remove the mailboxes on our houses and walk a couple blocks to our condensed community cubbies as you cut unneeded services, because as far as I’m concerned if it gets rid of this type of useless advertising and strain on natural resources, I’m willing to pay a little more at the post office for that.

Companies included in this heap of junk advertising are:

  • Sobey’s
  • XScargo
  • Rexall Pharma Plus
  • Dufresne
  • The Home Depot
  • Metro
  • Independent
  • Giant Tiger
  • Vistek
  • Future Shop
  • Best Buy
  • nofrills
  • Real Canadian Superstore
  • Car-On Auto
  • Stereo Plus
  • Sears
  • The Brick
  • Orléans Star
  • Canadian Tire
  • Vision (
  • Sport Chek
  • JYSK
  • Home Outfitters
  • Leon’s
  • Lowe’s
  • Staples
  • M&M
  • Walmart
  • Princess Auto
  • Shoppers Drug Mart
  • Hudson’s Bay
  • Michael’s
  • Action Car and Truck Accessories
  • Target
  • Food Basic$

If not having a mailbox means saving those companies from themselves in creating fliers that eat up natural resources and create pollution at the source they are made, then Canada Post just made an entire third of Canada instant environmentalists.
